I need a price on the Aspen 13 SEER coil or air
handler.
We offer many types of products that can, when matched
with an appropriately sized compressor bearing unit,
achieve 13 SEER and higher. SEER levels are the function
of a combination of system components including the
outdoor unit and indoor unit be that a coil or air
handler.

How long will the FM air
handlers be available, now that the AM series is in
production? FM to AM series transition is as
follows:
June 2006: AM Series rollout
Jan. 2007: FM series price increase. No new ARI ratings
on FM.
Jan. 2008: FM series obsoleted. All ARI reference
numbers removed from the ARI Directory.
I have a defective coil. What do I do to get my
warranty?
For a homeowner, contact a qualified HVAC contractor who
will be able to trouble shoot the problem, and recommend
a solution. For a dealer/contractor return the defective
coil to your local Aspen wholesaler, who will then take
the following steps: If after qualifying that the coil
is within the warranty period by providing the model
number and
serial number to either your sales rep or an
inside salesperson, a determination will be made as to
how to proceed. Typically, a copy of the Aspen warranty
report form which can be downloaded and printed from the
website, is required, along with the original Mylar tag
from the unit. After receipt at the factory,
credit can be issued in most cases, and the defective
coil can be field scrapped.

I have a defective Aspen air handler. What do I do to
get my warranty?
For a homeowner, contact a qualified HVAC contractor who
will be able to trouble shoot the problem, and recommend
a solution. For a dealer/contractor, contact your local
Aspen wholesaler upon determining which air handler
components may need to be replaced. If after qualifying
that the air handler is within the warranty period by
providing the model number and serial number to either
your sales rep or an inside salesperson, a determination
and disposition will be made as to how to proceed. The
wholesaler will then place an order for immediate
shipment of the defective part or parts, which will be
the fastest way to get the unit running. After receipt
of the defective parts at the factory, along with a copy
of the Aspen warranty report form, Aspen will issue
credit to the wholesaler for the value of the
replacement parts.

I have a leaking Aspen coil on startup. I have fixed
the leak myself, and want to know if I can get a labor
credit for having affected the repair?
Aspen immersion tests all coils in a clear water bath
while pressurized with 500 PSI dry air. After
determining that the coil is leak free, the coil is then
charged with a 60 PSI dry nitrogen holding charge, and
hermetically sealed. Each Aspen coil and air handler has
a sacrificial Schrader valve on the liquid line that can
be depressed prior to installation to avoid the chance
that an installing contractor goes to the trouble of
installing a leaking unit. This is known as the “hiss
test” feature. If it is found that the coil has no
holding charge, is at this point that the contractor
should return the defective coil to the wholesaler for a
replacement. Because we take these precautions to insure
the integrity of Aspen products, we do not issue labor
credit on leaking coils.

I have an Aspen product with a defective expansion
valve (TXV). Do I need to scrap the unit, or can I get a
replacement valve under warranty?
If you are a contractor, and the determination has been
made that the TXV is defective, take the bad valve to
your local Aspen wholesaler for replacement. If you are
a wholesaler, send the bad TXV back to Aspen with a copy
of the warranty report form to receive full credit.

I have a brand X product model number. Does Aspen
make a replacement for it?
While it is likely that an Aspen product can be used as
a replacement, we do not intentionally maintain a cross
reference of Aspen products to those of other
manufacturers. The questions that have to be answered in
these instances include, but are not limited to: 1) What
is the system tonnage or capacity? 2) What is the
minimum SEER required? 3) What is the basic product
configuration? (air handler, multi position, slab
horizontal, dedicated up flow, etc.). Your local Aspen
stocking distributor has the means to help determine if
the products available can do the job.

I need a price for one Aspen coil/air handler.
As Aspen only builds product to satisfy the orders from
our stocking wholesalers, we do not have the ability to
satisfy orders for one at a time. We do not have a
warehouse; therefore we rely on the wholesaler to stock
our products for immediate delivery.

Can any Aspen product be used with a heat pump?
We recommend you contact our Ratings Specialist on all
heat pump applications. Whether an Aspen product will
work or not depends on the minimum internal volume
requirement for the outdoor unit.

How do I know what
the duct openings dimensions are on my cased coil
cabinet?
Subtract 1 1/2” from the width or depth, for top opening
dimensions and subtract 3/4” from the width or depth,
for bottom opening dimensions. Dimensions can be found
on the
product's spec sheet.
Are Aspen air handlers
approved for use in mobile home applications?
Yes, the AAM multi-position air
handlers are approved for use in a mobile home. HUD
requires third-party equipment be listed by a Nationally
Recognized Testing Laboratory. Aspen air handlers are
ETL
Listed.
